Not to mention Core Combat expansion bringing out long range artillery in the form of the Flail - whereby an infil (they were like stalkers in PS1) would target paint the end of the bridge and whoever is in the flail would fire 3 miles down the road and wipe dozens of people wandering around at the end of the bridge like lemmings. People also used to do it on the single vehicle terminal at a base just after a cap because like 50 people would be sat within a 5m sq radius of the term waiting in a queue for their vehicle to spawn. And people did it often at bridge battles if they could. You say the ESF ruins things like your beloved bridge battle in PS2: Again, no.
